Passport, residence and purpose: choose the right inputs

What to check

A visa checker asks about a particular journey. The passport’s issuing country or territory, document type, destination and activity are separate facts. A residence card is not the same document as a passport.

Prepare and compare

Use the ordinary-passport option only for an ordinary passport. Diplomatic, refugee and temporary documents may follow different conditions. Where an exemption depends on residence or an existing visa, keep the exact condition and the supporting document in view.

Before you travel
